HVV Homeowner FAQs
Q: What are my rights and restrictions as an owner at HVV?
A: Homeowner rights and restrictions are defined in the CC&Rs and Operating Rules Document. Both documents are available on the HVVOA Governing Documents page. Feel free to reach out to the HVVOA Board of Directors with questions.
Q: I want to do some remodeling work on my HVV condominium. What do I need to know before I start?
A: Start by reviewing CC&Rs Paragraph 7.10 and Operating Rules Document Section V, then contact Management if you have questions. For most work you will need to submit a Work Request form to Management to obtain approval by the HVVOA Board of Directors. It is also your responsibility to obtain any building permits required by the Town of Mammoth Lakes Building Department.
Q: I'm planning to replace the flooring in my unit. What do I need to know before I have the work done?
A: Start by reviewing the Operating Rules Document paragraph 5.3 (Unit Flooring Replacement Guidelines). A 2mm thick rubber-based underlayment material is required under all hard surface flooring for sound transmission reduction. You will need to submit a Work Request form to Management to obtain approval, primarily to ensure compliance with the underlayment requirement. It is also your responsibility to obtain any building permits required by the Town of Mammoth Lakes Building Department. Additional information can be found in the flooring replacement rule Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
